SAG Erwin Peters – Your dependable partner for any size projects.
SAG Erwin Peters is the general contractor for the electrical engineering technology of the new construction project of a 110 MW gas and steam turbine plant in Saarbrücken. It requires the entire range of engineering services.
The Saarbrücken utilities and public transport company is currently building a combined gas-steam turbine facility in the capital city of the Saarland. Gas is used as fuel in this combined heat and power plant. It generates 39 MW of electrical power and 33 MW of thermal output. The heat is fed into the district heat network and used to cover the need of the city of Saarbrücken.
The gas turbine generates electricity by a generator that is directly connected to it. The hot exhausts of the gas turbine are then used to generate steam in a waste heat boiler. Subsequently, the steam is released by a steam turbine while it propels another generator and again generates electricity.
SAG Erwin Peters is the contractor for the entire process control and electric engineering technology. Part of the services are delivery, installation and commissioning of the ABB Freelance control system, the safety-specific S7-400 controls by Siemens and a 50 MVA block transformer and four transformers for own use.
Moreover, the medium-voltage and low-voltage systems are constructed, which includes production of 50 switch cabinets. In addition, the engineers of SAG Erwin Peters ensure uninterrupted power supply and install the measurement and control equipment, the analysis technology, lighting, and the equipment for the control centre.
